No argument here. Here's a guy who seems intent on making a good movie and giving a good performance every time out, and appears to always stay above the Hollywood bullshit celebrity fray. I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a film of his that I haven't liked, and this looks like a great interpretation of Gatsby.

I'm more of a Travels with Charley man myself.

Eh, it's not that. But would you agree that it has been a lost quality of the presidency over the past decade or so to pick up the nation's flagging spirit in times of distress? I think President Bush did this after 9/11, but then lost it in the ensuing years. Take FDR or Ronald Reagan - two examples of presidents

As a teacher in CT, we've been talking about the president a great deal lately, and that sentiment has bounced around quite a bit - we just can't picture Robot Romney having the same grace as President Obama has displayed over the past few days.

I'm always amused when a band member doesn't follow the band "aesthetic" - Matt and the other guys usually look fairly debonair, while this guy usually looks like he's in a jam band. Kinda like when the lead singer of Interpol wears a tracksuit, while the three other guys have suits on.

Yeah, I feel kinda guilty to be so surprised at what a thoughtful  decent guy he seems like.

I ask myself that every year. I look at Pitchfork's, Spin's, EW's, AVClub's, NPR's and other Best of … lists, and not only do I not listen to much of the music, I have no idea who some of these bands are.

This channel, and dozens of other shit channels (Spike, Lifetime, VH1, E, etc.), I get stuck with automatically, but I have to pay extra for the NFL Network and MLB networks.
