Oh, I agree. Some of the better Daredevil story arcs scream for a well directed, well adapted film. I've always thought that Daredevil would be the best "superhero" for a serialized TV drama, on basic or premium cable.

Yeah, I get the problem pretty clearly. I teach in a community where kids' parents are getting whacked by the economy, and I see the effects it has on their kids. What I don't see is how playing guitar in the park has any connection to that.

    … and Mission Impossible 2 is a lowlight? It's a bit over-the-top ridiculous, but I like it.

It is interesting how many of the runner-ups have aged much better  than the winner. I'll watch The Sixth Sense or The Insider over American Beauty any day of the week; Saving Provate Ryan or The Tin Red Line over Shakespeare in Love;Good Will hunting or LA Confidential over Titantic; Pulp Fiction, Shawshank or Quiz

Yeah … is there a bit of a Shawshank backlash that I don't know about? I've always felt that it was one of the best films of the 90s, and that ending is as satisfying a movie ending as you can get, in my opinion. A quietly moving meditation on freedom and friendship and time … I love that movie.

I always wondered why the Occupy movement never turned it's ire towards public and private colleges, and their exorbitant tuitions and fees. What is crippling a lot of young people more: student loans or Wall Street?

Eh, it's all how the message is delivered. I've got time for Bono, or Springsteen, or Eddie Vedder spouting off from the stage, because I feel like they give their audience some legit charity options and non-profits to explore, and to contribute to. Playing your guitar in Zuccotti Park, railing against a building,

Hopefully they don't opt out of this show during the World Series, like ARod …

That was my favorite line of the night. I think that it sums up the allure of these guys, and why they're probably tolerated in town - "wow, it must be awesome to just roll around on your bike, with your buddies, drinking and smoking and screwing all day, and not having to ever work!" And to many viewers, myself
