Trouble is, Rhino is the biggest Monkees geek enabler one could hope for.  The Beatles could only hope to have this much attention lavished on their catalog (even with the 2009 remasters).

They sold more than the Beatles and the Stones (maybe combined) in 1967 only.  That much is true.  They had three number one albums that year, and one from 1966 that stayed on the charts while, plus two number one singles and two more top tens.

I remember that one getting some flak on TWoP back when it aired — "I'm going KWA-ZEEE!"

That interpretation was definitely "in the air" (or "on the message boards") back when this episode first ran, and I think it's entirely correct.  If the two Tonys hadn't worked it out in advance, how would Tony S. even know what (Tony B.'s) "my way" was?

I'd side with Todd on these.  His way reads much better.

The single worst example of that kind of thing has to be Season 6 of "The Shield".  Which I won't spoil, but it's sort of like if Adriana's death had been the DVD cover / season promo image of Sopranos Season 6.  I had to account for this when I was loaning out "The Shield" to virgins…

I thought it would have been interesting if Carmela actually watched the copy of "The Matrix" that AJ got her.  "Ton', why is Ralphie in this movie?"

Look, I'm a fairly hardcore Elvis fan. I'm not averse to his collaborations or genre experiments — I loved "North", I loved "The Juliet Letters", I loved "Painted From Memory". But "River In Reverse" was the one that I just couldn't warm up to. It flat out bores me…it's so "PBS pledge drive", you know?

There's a superlative book called "Monkey Business" by S. Louvin (I think) that debunks an awful lot of the myths that attached themselves to the Marx Brothers over the years. One of which was that Maggie Dumont had no idea what was so funny and was desperate to play a dignified role in the Marx productions. She let

Really, America? Really???
That's so wrong on so many levels. I just threw up a little. No. Just…no. (See what I did there?)

And when Clark says goodbye to Mom out in the cornfield. *weep*

My tiny-ass rural high school sucked hard. I was so busy defending it to everyone I knew who went to a decent-sized high school (i.e. everyone I knew) that I didn't really come to terms with how lame it was until I was in my 30's.

Agreed. It was like an amped-up reunion tour of the original show. They did remove a lot of the more sexual stuff (as someone noted above), but I still thought it was great. Basically held up a lighter for 90 minutes. (Ow!)

Thanks for the perspective.

If I'm not mistaken…
…this episode has that great scene where Tony basically orders Ralphie to put out the hit on Jackie ASAP, while in reality his words convey the exact opposite. Brilliant writing & performing.

Anyone read his retarded link? Liberals all mindlessly start frothing whenever Palin's name is mentioned? Yeah, like it's not glaringly obvious to everyone that she's a colossal idiot.

The more all the women get tattooed, pierced, and shaved, the sadder the world becomes for me. It's like the hat trick of unsexy.

You know what needs to go?
"On so many levels". This offends geeks. That's the entire concept. There aren't any levels involved. People of Earth? Quit saying "on so many levels". Thanks.

Nobody, dude. The hundred people above this post who say they are can be dismissed by saying "Yeah, but still."

Funny you mention "gut feeling", because he STABBED…oh, whoops.
