Nice save.

Superman isn't your mother. He's also not omnipresent. He can prevent exactly one disaster at a time (minus eight hours when he's doing reporter-stuff, a few hours living his Clark Kent life, and possibly a few hours when he's asleep, depending on the version). If "abandoning" Earth is damning, so's having a day job

Lex Luthor having been to the Fortress of Solitude before is the only other reference to 2 that I recall. I don't remember if they said anything about how long Luthor had been in jail, but that also wouldn't necessarily have been when he was arrested at the end of 2.

I haven't read the script or anything, but from what I've heard, Kal Penn as Henchman #1 had a substantially larger role in the movie before he was tragically muted in the editing room.

I think they were setting up some kind of weird "Do as I do, not as I say" thing with Pa Kent, but it was done so ineptly that I can't be sure if I'm not just trying to help the movie. "Your father believed you could change the world by helping people, but you cannot under any circumstances help people. Just be a good

Does anyone know if anyone involved ever said overtly if the plane-crash sequence in "Superman Returns" was inspired by the one in these episodes, or maybe if they share a common origin in the comics? It's probably a coincidence, but they did both have Superman try grabbing on by one wing, only to be reminded that

@avclub-146bc30c345d31f3468fec764a1970e1:disqus Rumor has it that one point during the '80s there was talk of a Star Trek sitcom starring Lwaxana Troi. That's probably more of a space "Absolutely Fabulous" rather than a space "Downton Abbey," though.

The third was my favorite of the Psi Corps trilogy. Picking up after Crusade (would have) ended, Garibaldi finally starts to get some actionable leads on Bester, who has been on the run since the end of the Telepath War. Bester ends up hiding out in Paris and trying to make a new life for himself as a bohemian man of

The Agents of Gaming B5 Wars game (the closest thing to an authoritative source on B5 ships that was made) says, "Sharlins are the latest offspring of a line of starships dating back to the Sharoon class of 1254. Since then, the type has been periodically updated with new technologies in the ongoing attempt to keep

@avclub-b894e4330aeaa46a373292d17c62984d:disqus I'm not. I was thinking of "Epiphanies" as being the moment where everyone stopped enjoying Lyta's company. She went through some bad stuff before then, but that was all because of her abusive space-boyfriend throwing out her stuff and keeping her from going out except

I think the season 3 intro is supposed to build on Ivanova's closing monologue for season 2, and the bit about "peace is sometimes another word for surrender." The war had already begun, even if there wasn't much shooting going on, and trying keep the peace that had already been lost would just be a way of losing

@avclub-bbb04f2a70775131fa0397bbdb4c03de:disqus Unfortunately, I think all her goodwill and slack evaporated right along with… well, we all know what she did. Except for the ones who don't, which is why I'm being vague.

Apparently, a lot of Exogenesis's weirdness can be chalked up to JMS writing the story in two batches about a week apart, and neglecting to writing down a proper outline when he started because he felt like he had a real good handle on it… which he lost when he had to do other producer-things for a week halfway

I think what he's saying is that the way it was staged, it looks like the fleet was heading towards DS9 (since the Defiant and Rotarran meet it head-on), so it gave the impression that they were going to try and take back DS9 immediately.

@jerodast:disqus I assume the "Galaxy wings" are like "carrier groups;" squadrons of ships that are built around a Galaxy-class ship, not consisting of multiple Galaxies.

I knew a guy who was undercharging for creative work to such a degree he ended up taking a job delivering pizzas to make ends meet. He said he preferred it that way. He got bored having free time, and liked the monotonous work to clear his head while still getting to do the fun stuff that interested him.

There needs to be more Pimparoo in this show.

I remember a few years ago one of my friends forgot his ID so he couldn't get into a bar. The bouncer literally asked him for a bribe, in so many words.
