I'd like to agree with Hilbert before getting out of his space. 100 beers works out to about a full gallon of hard liquor. You'd have to be a pretty hardcore alcoholic to make it through that in a day (if I remember correctly, Andre the Giant could do it). 100 minutes = impossible.

It's more that the Sex Pistols were the New York Dolls of the UK. I'm not sure what you mean by musical merit. They clearly weren't very skilled musicians (except for Johnny Thunders), but that was never what rock'n'roll was about. I could make a nice vague claim like their songs were more "rockin'" than anyone…
