The mental illness analogies were done pretty well in this. I remember reading an interview with the writer when this aired where he said his original idea was about someone coming home to his family after a spell in a psychiatric hospital. Watching the series with that knowledge works pretty well.

i saw the name and thought "i know that guy, oh yeah , he made a lot of crap". then i read it and saw loads of films i loved. Mainly 'pieces of april'. to this day I defend katie holmes based on little more than that film

I agree with everyone who was disapointed by the Moriarty reveal. Too genuinely wild-eyed and creepy to be a sociopathic mastermind, although I'm still doubting that it wasw actually the real moriarty. Can't wait for season 2 for the reveal that he is still out there in the shadows.
