I can't handle laugh tracks. At least, not very well. I began trying to watch Aaron Sorkin's "Sports Night;" as a fan of his, I figured the banter would suit me. While the ping-pong of dialogue is there, the laugh track was so obviously out of place I couldn't even finish the pilot. (I'm told the laugh track

Nice to see Steven Weber in this episode. I've missed that guy after "Studio 60."

As a boss I didn't believe him for a second, but as a bizarro, out-of-left-field turn for Spader some bits were hilarious.

I'm gonna go ahead and say they should have just ripped the band-aid off and ended the show with season 8. Yes, it wouldn't have been a fitting finale for this much-loved series, but at the same time neither will keeping the show on for a whole other season to drag along to some "Very Special" finale. I'm a diehard "Scrubs" fan, it remains my favorite show to this day, but I must nevertheless recognize it went on for too long. Fortunately, after the transfer to ABC it did go out with some dignity (season 8 redeemed the middling season 7), but the season 9 "New Scrubs" experiment was shameful. The only thing it did

This is where, I think, the real criticism of "Girls" as being really white is. It's not a problem for the show because white people are inherently bad; it's a problem for the show because it depicts a highly diverse community as predominantly white. Your argument saying, "I don't expect 'Mad Men' to be full of black

I love the show. It remains a favorite. Now, I know people are bound to be shocked by this admission, as the criticisms of the show were many. I will concede many of them; however, I didn't find they hampered my enjoyment of the series overall. These are:

This is true… for me though there's a particular continuity in the S60 and Newsroom pilots. I think the ex-flame/coworker relationship can be done well, but I don't buy Will/McKenzie (at least not yet) as much as I did Matt/Harriet.

To preface: I loved "Studio 60." Some of the criticisms of the show I accept (like the times when dialogue became preachy and, perhaps most damningly, that the show-within-the-show was never that funny), but overall after purchasing the series, I've watched it twice through and loved it even more each time. Reverse racism isn't a thing (the term itself is racist, since it implies that only white people are racist by default), I agree with you. But I don't think that's what this article was getting at. The author even points out that criticizing "Girls" for its whiteness is a legitimate thing to do. So the criticism can't

As an overall series finale, I'd give it a C or C-. Contextually, given how much House slipped after its fourth season, I'd give it a B. It's not the finale the show deserved, but it was definitely the only finale that would have made sense given all that had happened over the courses of season seven and eight.

Though it hasn't been a perfectly consistent show thus far, this is definitely my favorite new show of the season. Yeah, the character of June isn't enthralling by herself, but being able to bounce off everyone else really helps. And dare I say that the meta Van Der Beek is one of TV's most hilariously awesome
