Yeah, my earlier post was flip. Thank you for the compliment and the point of view. And for the record, "Double Fantasy" is also infantile, and I like that record about as much as "Pet Sounds" (which is more than my original post read).

A beautiful argument. I would only rebut to point out that there's a lot of empathy for other people on Pepper, especially on "She's Leaving Home," which understands both the girl and her parents, but also on the humble dreams of "When I'm 64," the leering creep on "Good Morning," the loser trying to pull himself…
A few nice chord changes and some glittering slide can go a long way. Maybe even an hour and a half.
I tried doing this around the the theme "A Doll's House," the original title for the album. Stick to strong feminine points of view. A fun exercise.
It helps if you know that Lee was a troubled mixed-race kid who was thought of as the next big thing. I don't love Forever Changes, but I can reconcile the lyrics now that I know how ambivalent he is. Peace and love is the best policy, but don't have too much faith in it - that's kind of the viewpoint.
Yeah, I've given it plenty of thoughtful listens, like any classic album of my favorite era deserves. For instance, I don't think anyone has ever pointed out how similar the instrumental breaks of "Here Today" and Wings' "With a Little Luck" are - McCartney loves Pet Sounds, you know, and now that I've heard this…
"Eyes of Man" sounds like it has something in common with "Pass Away," which closed his previous album.
Yeah, I suppose "Too Much Monkey Business" and "Memphis" are carbon copies. To a deaf guy.
The 20-cut "Roy Orbison All-Time Greatest Hits" and "Diana Ross and the Supremes Greatest Hits Vol. 1 + 2" both are double-LP collections with dramatic arcs and stylistic cohesion which took less time to record than many more acclaimed albums.
I got no hits with CTRL-F infantile. So all this analysis of Pet Sounds is incomplete.
I want so much to like Kim Cattrall because, you know, boobies. And blond. And sex positive, yay! All of which I respect.
My take-away from Keith's book? Starts with drugs, moves on to drugs, hooked on drugs, got clean, realized Mick was an asshole, made shitty records. Oh, and he loves open G turning. I shouldn't have read it.
First electric dates to 1981. According to Robert Palmer, there were rumors of him Johnson playing electric.
"Daddy, why doesn't the Sinclair machine ever tell nice, funny stories?"
In his later days, playing electric guitar with a small combo. You're right, that would be an awesome show.
Someday in the near future I'm going to use my home video to start a blog on the importance of recording the stuff around us. In 20 years I've seen amazing changes in my environment, and despite all the cell phones and computers around us, I don't believe people are recording today's world. Makes me crazy.
How much better would it have been if Louis had a bunch of friends who would also be interested in the clown. The clown thinks he's doing a larger show, but Louie says, no, like this, it's better like this. He could rattle off some names - "Mr. Rogan, he'll laugh easily, Mr. Gervase, he's English, so don't expect a…
"My relatives and I from rural central Wisconsin will likely never escalate a fight or use a rifle or a handgun in an irresponsible way:…"
It is a good effort by the ever-reliable Sean. The intense self-analysis is always welcome.
Hint: he has not invested in renewable energy sources, but he has invested in weaponry. Russian weaponry.
