I haven't seen it since it was released and I don't know much about the Missile Crisis, so my judgement is fairly impaired, but as far as I remember, it's a really solid film. Nothing huge and world shattering, but definitely solid.

I can't tell if that's a joke.
But does director matter as much as the stars. Maybe here they do, but I mean around people who think the star did the catering and the writing. I just think the film choked in the avalanche of Costner dislike and that it was a little to small. It never really stood a chance, not considering how good it actually is.
It was nice to see him back with good film when he made Open Range. He should get back in the director's chair.
I guess maybe the reason is that right after this film, Costner and Kasdan did their best to be disliked by everyone, when they made Tombstone. Only it wasn't Tombstone, it was that other less fun one. Then Costner and that other Kevin tried to sink (sic) a film studio and Costner had an affair and then Costner did…
Ha ha ha…
That scene man, that scene…
Yep.
That is a fantastic scene.
I've heard that before and I can sort of see why someone would think that, but I must be honest… It's not really something that changed my view of the film when I saw it again.
I sort of have to bend my mind to get that pov. All I see is the tragic part you mentioned.
I will see it again.
Yeah, it kind of feels like a Spanish Prisoner trial run.
Homicide is by far his best film, btw. There are genuine emotions hidden behind the cleverness. The ending is fantastic and a great lead performance by Mantegna.
Am I reading it wrong, or is that praise for Spartan?
Yeah, they do seem to have a hysterical relationship with cigarettes.
His stand up show was weak, but it felt like it could make for a good TV show.
I've heard word on the street is Goldman said that's not correct.
It's a small part, but he's terrific in Dead Again. He makes a shrink in a fridge very believable.
Good. It's an excellent show despite not being that other show. The one about that meth guy.
I really think I'm going to have that problem too.
