Homer's monologue on why he isn't cool is one of my favorite recent moments. "Not only do I like Van Halen, but I think they keep getting better."

fairly dubious assessment of his filmography

None of the film takes place in the '90s and you have a fucking Star Fox avatar.

Do you have a source for this? She's taken part in all the major cast reunions (Paley, Vanity Fair) over the years.

His book doesn't really reach beyond 1992 or so. All That, My Brother and Me, Kenan and Kel, etc. are barely mentioned. When I read it, I thought it was just a needlessly narrow focus, but this interview sheds a new light on that aspect of the book.

I'd love to read Marah and Erik's Nickelodeon book, because Klickstien's was nearly unreadable—barely edited, a complete lack of clarity, and an absurdly narrow focus (it ends with the debut of Nicktoons, basically, completely ignoring Nick's first truly dominant and ascendant era).

Arby's is lord.

She goes with her and then has nightmares about it and makes her sister (who actually got the abortion) feel bad about not feeling bad enough about it. Also, Liz (pseudo punk girl who dated Joey for a while and hung around Spike all the time) painted "baby-killer on her locker.

It's not as famous as the Spike storyline, but Erica did go through with an abortion in the original show.

The Blue Album could use another reissue. There's a decent amount of early material that's yet to see a proper release (especially the Kitchen Tape and the Real Demo).

I think Todd mentioned it on twitter, but I'm not finding any confirmation online, so I may be wrong!

That quote is from a fake article on some poor man's Onion. He never said it.

Nah, they're one of the most influential rock bands ever and any list of "great American rock bands" without them is a joke.

Well, he's not talentless like the first two on your list and he's not a piece of shit rapist and/or domestic abuser like the last three.

She's contracted for 16 episodes, I think, so she should be in most of the rest of the season.

The Rentals have been active since 2006. They did a massive multi-EP project in 2009 called Songs About Time.

"Say it Ain't So"

22 and 17 are way farther apart in terms of life experience than 30 and 25.

There's so much stuff on Slate that some of it ends up being worthwhile. Their film coverage is pretty good.
