lovely camera work/enjoyed it
Thought the extreme focus on weight/female competition was realistic.

Also, I'm shipping "Eastbound and Down" to my brother in afghanistan.

Hang gliding looks like so much fun.

Good Taste is Easy to Recognize!
People seem to appreciate when you upgrade little things they wouldn't spend on themselves, a.k.a. Fancy Feast to generic cat food*. Better example, magazine/comic subscriptions they usually read online. Tangible reading material is nice.

Yeah, it would be nice if it that was intentional rather than ham-fisted-romantic-comedy-moment. But if this were 16 candles, Masuka's character would be way worse (I've already kind of noticed that he is the least developed regular on the show. Hollywood really sucks with asians).

Purple
Did anyone else notice all the purple clothing in the scene where Jordan Chase shows up at the lab? Dexter has a light purple casual office, Jordan has a purple tie, and Deb is wearing purple flannel. I don't know what, if anything, to make of that.

cancuh
Also Michael C Hall looked older and paler during this episode. I wonder if this was filmed during his chemo. I'm getting an MRI tomorrow for a meningioma. That is why I am sleepless and commenting by myself. Good times.

Feeeeelings, so many feeeeelings
1. I noticed that this episode contained lots of couples - Lumen/Dexter, Angel/Laguerta, Quinn/Deb, Emily/Jordan, Creepy Nanny/potential Damian from The Omen …
Masuka and Rowboat seem to be the only ones partnerless at this square dance.

and it's really too bad the show already did the evil twin/homicidal brother thing in season one. So many wasted opportunities.

I would love for someone to supercut those two shows together for my amusement.

Is that what that was? Because that is disgusting.

Good points. It's worth noting that for all Dexter clings to the Code to survive, he appears to value it (or at least adhere to it rigidly) less and less as the show has progressed. He brings up Harry less frequently in the unwelcomely ubiquitous voiceovers, and violates the Code all over the place: he gets married,

Did Harry create Dexter's personality (deciding he was a bad seed and then making him into one) or was he correct about Dexter being a killer and just helped him to manage his nature? I guess I want more indication as to which of the two possibilities is the correct one.

Dexter has created, seemingly unintentionally, a loyal accomplice to stash the bodies/etc.
Dexter drugged her ! (that happened, right? she didn't just fall asleep?) and her response was, "Wow, I've never slept better." He's kind of got her on the hook for life. She seems trusts to trust him implicitly. The problem is

Good observations about Harry/Lumen. She'll never flip on him. He saved her life.

1. Killing someone in a hotel if you know what you're doing seems like a good idea. Dexter running around in one without a disguise and palling around with his victim's boss = less so.

Sociopath
During the first season I thought the writers were trying to show that Dexter was naturally a sociopath. Or rather, that the violence against his mother had somehow "activated" this personality trait within him (which is totally questionable as a premise but as an audience we ran with it). I thought the
