SPOILERS:
At least the movie knew that Ginelli was the best character and to expand his role. If I'm not mistaken, he doesn't die in the film, right?

@avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus One of the best examples of this I believe is the TV movie for IT. You know, the one that has the characters saying all these words and phrases from the book but almost 100% of them without the longwinded explaination of each that would give them context. Beep Beep…

Yeah, people LOVE to say that Americans are fat because we're all rich and lazy, but then you have dirt poor Mexicans living on nothing (Both in Mexico AND the US) who somehow have 5 Roly Polys for children, like they feed them fatback for dinner or something. Obesity really has more to do with the food WE ALL eat and…

bfred you're mistaken. The gypsy is the same exact character, an 100 year old man, in both versions. The novel is 316 pages long, although I'll give you this: it does feel shorter than that based on the premise, which stays pretty narrow throughout the book.

I always remember the other line from the trailer, maybe because I'm a big Dennis Miller fan: "So whaddya gonna do, put THE PRESIDENT in a lineup?"

@avclub-fb3deea8bff8902a6a092a4b532b4a68:disqus From what I gathered, Rose Madder along with Gerald's Game may be the only King books I never intend to read, I guess that makes me a misogynist, since I'm here on the avclub ;). Lisey's Story and Delores Claiborne will be read, but Full Dark No Stars was at its worst…

Never understood the hate for The Regulators, maybe it's because I read it first, before Desperation. I know Dreamcatcher is schlock but it's schlock that trades on the connection to my favorite King book, IT. Friends from Derry Maine, getting together as adults, pulled together to fight some unimaginable evil, etc…

I have a friend who imitates the Fonz, and I'm pretty sure he has never seen an episode nor heard of Happy Days, he just likes to cock his thumbs at you and go " 'EEEEEYYYY!"

@avclub-14e4cee178d88fb9aa346dbcc11f2873:disqus The 50's lasted until the Beatles showed up on Ed Sullivan. Lucas was pointing out that a whole shit load of change occured in the mid to late 60's. In '62, the first rock n roll era was starting to wind down and soon the British Invasion would occur.
