Shameless Halloween self promotion thread
Man, I'm an hour late because the clocks went back here. Anyway here's a remix of Gravediggaz "Nowhere To Run" that I did yesterday and should soon see me elevated to Halloween playlist perennial along with Boris Pickett, Screaming Lord Sutch and Ray Parker Jr. Free download h

I sometimes think the ravages of time can make once great voices sound somehow even more affecting.

Colin and Rod performed a bit of Time Of The Season with just piano accompaniment on the BBC documentary Psychedelic Brittania which was screened this weekend. I thought that Rod sounded pretty amazing still.

We do claim him as our own, along with MF DOOM so that's two out of the five greatest mcs of all time. But if anyone's genuinely interested in British hip hop produced in the U.K then check out Roots Manuva, Jehst, Skinnyman, Rodney P or Lil Simz for starters.

No space for John Boyega's Peckham accent in a galaxy far far away?

You'll bite off more than you can chew if you get too cute or witty
You better move your feet if you don't wanna eat a meal that's called Fist City
If you don't wanna go to Fist City…

Oh my is right! Those strings are incredible. I must get round to watching 30th Century Man and I think we have a copy in the library so I've no excuse for still not having seen it.

The Hideaways is an American children's film from 1973 that used to be playing on television at every motel we stopped at in the days when my family spent several summers cris-crossing the United States in a rented station wagon. My sister recently sent me a DVD copy so I watched that this week and was surprised to

The current line up of The Fall is one of their best ever, the band is shit hot even when Smith's not on top form. Are they traveling with the double drummer attack?

Such an amazing talent and so incredibly influential. Montague Terrace In Blue and Duchess, my two personal favourite tracks of his, are both self penned but show how well he absorbed the work of so many great songwriters and Brel in particular.

When I'm done with this one I wouldn't mind experiencing Slim Gaillard's fabulous existence.

Plus John Byrne can't draw feet. I remember watching him do a drawing at a comic convention in the eighties and saying to my friend 'I bet he doesn't do the feet' and sure enough he drew a little gas cloud to cover the foot area.

Ha ha hate reading is a new concept to me but it pretty much nails what I'm going through with this book.

I picked it up while waiting for other books I'd ordered to arrive at the library just because I knew I'd whizz through it in a few days. Also everybody in these books is constantly boozing and lighting up fags which isn't helping my abstinence drive one bit (I'm the kind of suggestible person who stops The Godfather

Well, since you asked. He seems to of become a parody of himself, his fucked up vision of masculinity and even more fucked up attempt at writing female characters. Self referential and over reaching but, as I said, I'll zip through this unnecessarily giant novel in next to no time because he does know how to boil

James Ellroy's Perfidia, such a terrible writer and yet so terribly compulsive.
