That probably explains why I don't care for that song. It feels melodically jarring because it is.

Don't love Transference, but yes, Written in Reverse is one of the best tracks on it. Just mashing that piano.
Anyone who treats their opinion as some kind of badge of honor lives a sad diorama of a life. Transference wasn't for me, just a few keepers, but hey, some people like it, more power to them.
That's because it is better than the show. Your opinion is good and you should feel good.
This is what I've been calling it since the debut. Because it is so very, very dumb.
All I know is I got into Spoon with Ga and loved it, got Gimme Fiction and quite liked it, and then Transference came out and yeah, it felt cold, removed, calculated. Not that such an approach can't work, but it sure felt forced to me. Didn't hate it, but only a few songs worth keeping on the device.
People talk about the impressiveness of the puppetry on this show, and it's clearly top-tier, but this show made people care about ships that never existed beyond a handful of sets with sounds, lighting, shaking cameras, and the actors. That's something.
It is the absolute grossest thing I've ever seen "fans" do. "I sure hope fatty finishes his books before he dies!" As if GRRM is not a human being at all, but a cassette tape with only so much left and people hoping that the story ends before it spools its last and can be returned to its case.
It is good and it is certainly not for children. It's part of his "Dreamsongs" collection and I won't say anything else. But it's good.
You leave her stamen out of this!
It's space that's going through some things.
The alternate, being left with a Season 4 finale resolution, would have been MADDENING.
Same here. I watched PW completely in the dark. I enjoyed the show without the now-pervasive critical or community feedback we enjoy(?) now, and I found PW to be a rushed but otherwise solid experience that felt like a Season finale with bigger stakes.
Hope your surgery goes well.
WHY SO BEHIND???
I really didn't like the Mary Sue nerd in SGU, and that killed it for me. Also, it seemed to go through episodes you saw coming a mile away as if they were new and interesting. Especially when it's a lesser show hitting the same survival beats as BSG's most glorious early days.
I don't always comment because I usually skim AVC on break at the office, but I am disappointed these are going away after Season 3. I haven't seen S4 or PW since I first watched them in the middle of the last decade, but now that I've put a good amount of time into really re-watching the series, I don't want to put…
That is exactly what it is. She exhibits the power after the "runner" possesses her, and it really does take on more and more of her over time. It's a surprisingly patient development, and it adds another dimension to an interesting character who still needed one.
It is not a good show and anyone who says it is is being remarkably kind.I've been around for most of the episodes (like "in the same room" capacity and the show is melodrama and lots of "teens" exploring tension with each other. You know the kind.
Christopher Tin released a new album this year. I'll go with the longer swell, fall, and crescendo of "Waloyo Yamoni" over the heart-wrenching "Iza Ngomso", but they're both great songs in the same vein as "Baba Yetu."
