Interesting. Jon Voight's career trajectory would probably explain his dickishness. And I think Sean Penn said on Letterman or something that he wouldn't work with Stone again because he doesn't work with 'pigs'. No love lost there then.

@avclub-9ae62beddee12dbc823cd99bc6feaf2c:disqus Yeah, 'likeable' isn't the right way to phrase it; I have no problem with Scarface for instance. Guess it comes down to personal opinion on the lead actor, in that I find Caan bland and charisma-free.

@avclub-12c587c9ed3b9edc910316b5954e12c5:disqus Oh, you should, it's very 80's, but very awesome. Don't read any plot details beforehand either.

Sure, I love Manhunter. Will Petersen with the one-two punch of that and To Live and Die in LA. You reckon it boring? I think you be frontin'.

Because Alec wants to challenge people's perceptions of him as an actor. Like the time when he grew a big beard for 'The Edge'.

What about Alec Baldwin, sitting on a stool, nude, just looking at the book in the corner of the room, rubbing his fat, hairy belly and whispering quietly - inaudibly - to himself and jacking off? Would be pretty cool, huh?

Looks hilarious.

Spoiler alert for a 15 year old film -

That's not true. He gives great head.

Dan Brown dun became a rock star changed his name to Dan Sex is all.

Also sounds alot like the 'Sluggo' guy.

Your mom says I need to clean up my bed? That's rich coming from her.

I feel it was more an experiment, an exercise in style, and subverting people's expectations of what a 'Miami Vice' film could/should be, than an attempt to tell any kind of compelling or interesting story.

That's hilarious. This was post-Oscar of course. What a dick. He signs up for Miami Vice and refuses to do any scenes on boats. Brilliant.

Really? Any reason given for him bailing?

Yeah, he's a loud, narcissistic asshole in interviews and press. And apparently on the downlow. But a good enough actor that he's tolerable when he tones it down in Django or Collateral.

Michael Mann is one of my favourite filmmakers (Heat + The Insider = lifetime pass) but this one was an absolute borefest. Shapeless, storyless and shallow.

In all seriousness, I don't know why this site posts anything about this sick fuck. He needs shot.

Did you ever see the TV show 'TJ Hooker'?

The Dream Merchant 21 has left the building.
