I thought the most profoundly powerful aspect of the movie was that Wayne is clearly suicidal. As soon as Bane gets to town Wayne gets a twinkle in his eye and goes from recluse to Batman. And by being confronted with a horrible, psychologically crushing death he finds the will to live and be happy.

I was initially a bit scared that this would turn into an opportunity for nasty politics - especially with all the (extremely tenuous) OWS parallels - but thankfully I haven't seen any yet. I can't really say my faith in humanity is restored, but I'm glad this hasn't gone beyond senseless tragedy like Gabrielle…
