I think this character and her late husband we of course brought in to advance  the main characters season arcs.  But of course most side characters are.  She willingly went along with the cuckolding, and then lied about it in order to try and save herself/get paid.  Narcisse knows it was a lie, but uses it for a foot…

The look and feel of the show is just resplendent.  I really don't care about what happens minute to minute, I just love BEING in this world for an hour a week.

so…. The Happening ?

Everyone who isn't the main cast is just a mindless shell, ready to be talked into whatever plot device is called for this week.  Church?  here we are!  Lynching?  bring the kids!

I love that the fact that Julia broke Barbie out of jail does NOTHING to make Linda or anyone else it town think maybe he didn't shoot her afterall.

THIS!  They finally found something for him to do, made him not just the 'one note stoner who we are too afraid to actually show smoking'.  And then they just drop the whole character until the last 2 eps.   Same with Angie 'getting the diner going again, for the town'.  And Linda's off-screen lobotomy.

I love how nobody in town has ONCE mentioned anybody outside of town, since 'dome day'.  The 'townspeople' (all 20 of them), are the most poorly conceived and handled characters ever.  They show up to church or hangings, sure, but the rest of the time, what do they even do?  Do they go to work, sit at home, have…

The whole thing really fell apart when they up-and-created Max and the fight club, for one episode.  You knew then that they didn't know what the hell they were doing here.

Ugh.  Who are these townspeople who bring smiling children to a hanging, based only on Jim Rennie telling them he's bad, Barbie saying 'not guilty', and nobody reacting at all as they stand like sheep and wait for him to be hanged for killing three people NOBODY IN TOWN would even know the names of.   What a stupid…

I have hope they will stay with him as a gay man, but not lean on the 'gay plot point stereotypes' for laughs.  He could be a really innovative character if they just let him be a person, and not a gay-joke-factory.
