they are totally going to get around to the brain tumor, they are slow-playing it like everything else.   @avclub-c6447300d99fdbf4f3f7966295b8b5be:disqus can you guys do a spoilers reminder in the review each week?  There is absolutely no reason for people to keep throwing out big spoilers from the book, especially

My biggest problem with the 'reality' of the situation:  The gov't hasn't contacted them in any way yet?  The townspeople have at least done some dome-tagging.   The army can't hold up a sign of any kind?

I say The Talisman would be impossible to pull off in anything but animation.  Ditto Dark Tower.

pho, you forgot rule #1…. IT TAKES PLACE IN A SMALL TOWN IN MAINE!

Yes, they changed everything but the names, it seems.  And, of course, they took out all the crazy corpse-raping for network tv.  I don't see how you spoiling the book (they are not POSSIBLE spoilers when you lay out specific plot points) is helping anybody.  Others might want to read the book to see what is

Plus, she got naked in "Pump Up The Volume"… that's gotta count for something…. no?

it was odd how the screen on his phone was dark.  who stopped the recording and turned off the phone?  They were only under for a few seconds, why not have the phone still recording him as he stands up to reach for it.  I don't like lazy shit like that.

I found him better at playing 'trying to do right' than 'trying to be menacing'.  I think this is going the way of the book, which would explain his swings.  BUT, the acting and writing are a mess, and at the moment it makes no sense the way Junior is acting.

Ugh.  The meningitis outbreak was a perfect chance to really amp up the stakes.  Have 150 people get sick, stretch it over 2 episodes.  Find the stolen drugs at the end of first ep, and then hang the end of the ep on realizing there are only 40 doses left in town.  Ep 2 is everyone deciding on who should get the drugs

Wow.  Sad.  I stopped watching years ago, but he seemed like a good dude.  It's always sad when somebody dies in their 30s.

I think some people do.  Maybe not young people who would actually be interested in these movies.  But I think the older generation still might look at a review and assume the reviewer put some energy into their writing.  If Reed has no interest in watching something, I wish he would just skip it.  But it seems like

Good point.  I hate that his name still holds some cache, where the average person might still think he puts any time, energy, or talent into actually reviewing movies.

Have to say I am really sad that the Cabin in the Woods flap (for which I wrote him a long list of every mistake he made while he was clearly NOT watching the film, and offered several places for him to insert his head) did not lose him his job, but in fact seems to have given him a new thrust in his reviews towards

Late to this weeks ep, but I'm thinking Ben IS Warlow.  Otherwise, why did he show up in town right when Warlow was supposed to?

In general, I wish the US could follow more like England, with a couple of solid seasons, then end the idea while it is strong, and go make something else.  Especially with a source material that is fixed in scope like this book.  You could maybe stretch this to two 13 episode seasons, but beyond that, it's gonna be

Hannibal just fucking OWNS.

he needs to be menacing, and pepper that with insecurity and craziness.  Way too whiny and weird now.

for real, though.  Don't do OVERT book spoilers, guys.  The brain tumor is probably coming eventually.

This is unfortunately confirming my worries about previous King TV adaptations.

I liked it too.  Pope/Mason is always fun.  Nice to have a change of locales too.
