Looking at the top 40 from the Pazz & Jop poll from 1993, it was not a great year. I never really rated Exile in Guyville, which was #1. The Breeders album was good, as was Palomine by Bettie Serveert. While 14 Songs did not reach the heights of his Replacements work, it was still a good effort. Yo La Tengo and

Pearl Jam were awful. Their CDs were not allowed anywhere near our college radio station.

Anodyne really made my year.

I saw this in a theater when it was released. Some great segments and a nice walking tour of Austin in the early 90's. It really captured the attitudes of my generation.
