"There'll be no more signing! Not today! Not ever!"

Ha, yeah, I was just coming back to post my realization that what I described was pretty much Turn Off The Dark, and I'm rather unlikely to ever bother seeing that.

Musical Numbers
I totally dig the hate for Spiderman 3 - that movie was a morass of mostly-unwatchable crap. The musical numbers though? Those were the only entertaining part of the movie! I would have loved to see a Spiderman 3 which was ONLY musical numbers, and I'm not being at all "ironic" or sarcastic about

I have no particular opinion of Diablo Cody…
… never having actually seen anything she's been involved in, but I have to wonder why anyone would want to make another pointless remake of Evil Dead. There's already *been* a pointless remake of Evil Dead, and it was called Evil Dead 2.

Well, I'm one of those filthy hippies who use Linux, etc. I actually do own an Android phone now, and I guess there's an Audible client that runs on that, but I otherwise have literally no way of accessing Audible's DRM'd content. Even iTunes is selling DRM-free content nowadays, yeah?

Somebody tell Audible to just let me download an mp3 already
DRM'd media died years ago.

Good gods…
… when did movies get so expensive?

Er, yes. That is precisely what happens.

Yeah, the version I saw had them playing Christian music; I don't think I would have called it "gospel," it was more of the twiddly "Jesus is great" sort, if I'm remembering correctly.

The "Compose" key in Linux has 'em all beat, though. I've got mine bound to right-Alt. It's similar to what's described for Macs but with actually-intuitive combinations. Compose-" (and then the letter) for umlauts, Compose-/ for anything with a slash, Compose-` for grave accents, Compose-^, Compose-', etc, all

Who'd want to rent a chicken?

Staying hopelessly out of touch has its perks!
Not only had I not heard a single thing about a new Muppet Movie, I fortunately stumbled across this trailer (linked to me with no mention of Muppets) before seeing the AVClub's giveaway title. The surprise around the minute mark was simply delightful.

Another recommendation
To add to the pile of recommendations for anyone else who enjoys this (it is certainly a highly enjoyable album): Hecker's collaboration with Aidan Baker is quite delicious - http://www.alien8recordings…

I have to admit that I'm much more fond of Coil's "moon musick" phase, specifically starting with the Musick to Play in the Dark discs. "and the ambulance died in his arms" probably remains my favorite (though it's a live disc, not a studio album). The New Backwards is well worth getting, FWIW…

I actually do enjoy their "live" show quite a bit, and always go see 'em when they're in town, but I agree that in general the clips shown here at avclub.com have been somewhat disappointing for that reason. I can't imagine that the AV Club has to watch their bandwidth so closely that it'd kill them to just show the

I couldn't bring myself to read the sixth book; it felt too much like I'd be reading fanfiction. Which, you know, could possibly be GOOD, but that's not exactly what I want out of h2g2…

Huh
Now all it needs is some American McGee and Tim Burton?

Hear hear! I am eagerly awaiting the demise of the current 3D trend. Primarily I just find it an unwelcome fourth-wall distraction. Then again, I don't even like surround sound (for similar reasons), so I'm not exactly in anybody's target market.

Yeah, I still miss http://www.littlefluffy.com/ and was thrilled when the AV Club started doing this article. Here's hoping the pageviews remain high enough to keep it!
