Rather than rare, I think I mean that it is more often pointed out, or has its own storyline. I feel like while you might be right that there are more lesbians in non specifically gay cinema, I would argue there are less lesbian storylines than gay male storylines.

Well said. I would just like to add that just as it takes empathy on those learning, it also takes empathy on those educating, and it can be a struggle for both. I can totally understand how having to educate every single person you meet becomes exhausting at some point, but it’s always disheartening when someone in a

I don’t want to speak for everyone because there are definitely some that your last paragraph would apply to. There are others, however, that have issues with the acronym due to it being cumbersome. Generally it is easier to remember things that are concise and readily explain themselves, and as the acronym gets

Ah I see. Interesting. I feel like I notice more gay men than lesbians on TV and in films, but that doesn’t necessarily go against your point.

Bulgaria doesn’t start with an L, and also gave you yogurt and feta cheese.

I think the praise for Blue wasn’t for the sex scenes, which got called out at the time, but for the character work. The sex scenes take up a small portion of the film relative to the eating, for example. I thought the last scene in cafe was devastating, and had nothing to do with being a hetero male fantasy.

Do you mean less pretty people in general, or is this some subset I don’t know about?

So what exactly about this is a Veronica Mars-style mystery? Kid friendly is not what I would use to describe Veronica Mars. Most of the cases she worked on were sordid, grimy, and often intertwined with class issues.

Do you do other esports, or just Hearthstone? Also, this was pretty good! Although I think it doesn’t quite display the variety you can have in KPop, it’s not a bad spread of artists from different generations.

Nope. Try again. I don’t particularly even like the Beatles, and I listen to a lot of KPop and thus a fair amount of boy bands (although girl groups are more my speed). I just don’t think the label applies based on definition. Who are all of these other boy bands who play instruments?

The TeamLiquid KPop thread is super nostalgic for me now. Bubble Pop was playing everywhere in SC games for months.

I feel like that’s defining the term backwards in time. Boy bands didn’t exist at the time. It’s pushing the definition to find a progenitor.

Just checked his post history and it’s kind of hilarious how it’s all hearthstone and this one lone kpop article.

Just found out you can dismiss replies because Mudbud keeps dismissing mine. What a terrible feature.

Why are my replies only not showing up when I reply to you?

The Universe’s Big Star Heechul needs more recognition from the Universe.

All true. Which makes them just like American pop groups! And the Hollywood casting couch. And Motown back in the day. What were we talking about?

Sort of relevant, but Korean reality TV is way better than current American ones. The variety shows that they have for celebrities, a lot of whom are Kpop idols, rival the type of chill game shows that were around in the 50s and 60s here, although not on the level of British Panel shows, which have been the gold

Maybe that is how they were sold, but was that in the US or in the UK? Reading things that were coming out around that time seems to suggest they had a much more irreverent tone than the average pop group. They were thought of as working class boys, which again is hardly the image most boy bands project:

OG Beatles were nailing condoms to the walls of grimy pubs before they got professional producers. That’s not exactly the spirit of a boy band.
