While I agree with most of these, a couple of the examples seem a little off. Complaints about Sherlock's 'death' should really be directed to Conan Doyle - the programme never really pretended he'd died, and the fun was (supposed to be) in working out how he'd faked it. Of course, Moffat et al totally cheated on

That's always how I've heard it - something slightly sad in the way people try to cling onto symbols of their youth, even when they've changed ('grown up').
