I think spending the last decade and a half as a regular in Albert Pyun movies has something to do with his bad rap. He's not quite Olivier Grunner without an accent, but he can't do a whole lot worse.

Any one of these would be ideal for home defense!

Sometimes I wonder if he's better at writing than directing them. Consider two of his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow's films - Point Break and Strange Days - both of which he had some hand in the screenplays. Point Break has some of the best action scenes of any 90s film, and Strange Days does some pretty crazy shit with the

You make a somewhat convincing argument for T3. I suppose that my disappointment stems not only from comparing it to the previous films but also the fact that I quite liked Jonathan Mostow's first film, Breakdown, which was about as far in the opposite direction from T3 as you could get. His career basically went

I can't really argue with this. It's basically the Alien vs. Aliens debate, only they're made by the same guy this time.

I will forever argue that Terminator is far superior to the films that followed it.

death is coming for them, tonight. Tell them Eric Draven sends his

"Crosetti" is arguably the best episode Homicide ever did, even if its whole reason for being is complete bullshit.

Thanks for that, Elspeth!

We're talking about the final shot in The Passenger, right? Because I agree with you that, considering the rest of the film, it's way too overt for its own good.

Much better, thank you!

No no no, if you're going to say his name, you have to say the whole thing. You have to say JCVD.

Looks like your faith was rewarded, Vinny. Congrats!

Sounds like you might appreciate former Clubber Nathan Rabin's rant on this film for The Dissolve:

I've read that Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz see it as an anthology series, so a second season would have a new character and setting. Riley Keough had said she signed on with the understanding that Christine's story would only be one season, as she had no interest in doing another.

But not wholly unexpected, to be honest. It's a niche show for a very specific audience (weirdos like you and me, obviously) and all the critical kudos it got pre-airing didn't translate into decent ratings or Emmy attention (I'm pretty sure, but not positive, it aired in time to qualify for this year's nominations).

It's already been written? That's interesting. They'd still need to put together a cast and everything, though, and that takes time they're gradually running out of.

I'm not really sure what to think at this point. The ratings were only just above "Flesh and Bone" (although that was cancelled for entirely different reasons), and if I understand the time frame for qualification right, the hoped-for Emmy attention didn't happen, which makes it even less valuable to Starz.

He cries for the last time when his sister is too coked out of her mind to attend his black belt ceremony.

Sorry about that. I guess the only thing we can do is play you a song.
