Eye gouging? "Classic Poe!"
Eye gouging? "Classic Poe!"
It's incredibly disheartening, yeah. But you have to admit that Fuller's plan - seven seasons of fairly heavy stuff, adapting three books in the process - was pretty ambitious, especially on a network like NBC.
I suspected that, and I'm glad Fuller made the decision to put up those scenes. That said, I was a little annoyed when they appeared in the recap.
I will go you one further. It is the ONLY show on TV right now I will make a point of watching live. With COMMERCIALS! I haven't had to endure commercials since 24 ended! But I will suck it up and suffer quietly if that's what it takes to get me some Hannibal.
I feel like the show is attempting to show the human impact through Abigail Hobbs and the way everyone reacts to her. She suspects her father's taste for murder has been passed on, and is afraid of what she might do - or if she might even enjoy doing it. Alana and Will feel a paternal need to protect her, though…
Maybe he smells like urinal cake, seeing as how he enjoys it so much.
And "Lecter" rhymes with "vector." So he's a cannibal with direction and magnitude!
Every time someone brings up something along the lines of "like father, like daughter," I get a vibe of Amanda whats-her-face from the Saw movies. Which is weird, I know, but going in that direction would kinda lessen the show for me.
Besides being super cute (although her smile at the end of the webisodes creeped me right the fuck out), Kacey Rohl is proving to be a pretty good actress, and last week's episode alone allowed her to shine where the half dozen episodes of The Killing she appeared in merely used her as a plot device. To be honest,…
Bryan Fuller said in his intro to the webisodes that the relationship between Hannibal and Abigail would become fundamental as the season continued, so it's a sure bet she'll be back soon.
I honestly didn't think network television could stoop to the levels of The Following. It is also horrifying, but in other ways - mainly, in its profound stupidity. As horrifying as this show can get, it has a lot of thought and purpose put into that horror.
