I didn't see the actual Budd Dwyer footage until Bowling for Columbine came out. But I do remember seeing giant black-and-white photos of Dwyer's staring corpse on the front page of our newspaper the day after. It was the first time I had ever seen a photo like that. This episode belongs in the front half of season 1, to be honest. All it's lacking is Zach's original voice acting to make it one of those aimless, mildly entertaining, abjectly forgettable episodes.
Good eye, I had totally forgotten about the McQuarrieprise. I was a starship geek for years as a kid. I still have an original-printing Franz Joseph Technical Manual that I bought in '75 and I used to keep detailed lists of ships, registry numbers, shipyards, and classes in a Trapper Keeper.

IMO, it seems like the farther Star Trek was pushed into the future, the stupider the writers and producers of Trek canon got with the canon.
It looks to me like it was adapted from one of the ship designs in the original Star Trek Technical Manual - and I think it looks pretty damn good myself.
Well, in the interests of full disclosure: I was more in love with the hyperbole than my actual argument.
If I needed workout music to blast through a few dozen reps on the bar, then I could go with "Flight." But if I want to build a complex emotional response to a dizzying flight scene, I'd go with Jackman's score every time. It seamlessly transitions from amazement to triumph to wonder to the afterglow of the moment.…
My suspicion is that they're going to run out of content rather rapidly, once the writers all get the "THIS IS MY FAVORITE FOOD" stuff out of their system.
