Of the two Donald Penobscotts who guest-starred on M*A*S*H, I liked Mike Henry best because I knew he'd eventually go on to star as Junior Justice in the Smokey and the Bandit movies.

Big Space Race nut here. Hoping that this turns out to be deeper than a Hollywoodized pile of cliches, because the topic deserves a great deal of respect and examination.

When fandom went from being a way to connect with like-minded people in order to share common interests to logging on simply to prove to the world that your way to enjoy those interests is the only valid one… that's when Internet fandom jumped the shark.

The first thirteen or so episodes are like Parks and Recreation Season 1. If somehow you can make it past the initial slog, it gets much richer and more rewarding.

"Peace and Love." Anything sung by Deedee Magno Hall. And anything from "Mr. Greg."

…and Williams had to dub most of them (poorly) in post, too.

This is becoming increasingly tangential, but I do want to reply to this just to give you some context about me.

Same. The Priabin story arc through Winter Hawk is just heartbreaking.

I did a lot of work with Earnhardt back in the late 1990s and he wasn't quite Galt. It was his #brand but he was only an asshole to intrusive strangers. In person he was just a country kid who got rich and was forced to learn about money and business. It was actually kind of endearing at times.

I have Firefox, Firefox Down, and Winter Hawk. I refuse to buy any of the other Mitchell Gant books from the series as I think those three books make a great trilogy of their own.

Y'know, reading back through a few comment threads at some of the posts and discussions I've been involved with and perpetuated regarding Gem mythology, reliable narrators, the Second Sword Theory, Gem transmutation, Diamond Lions, etc…

I'd be interested to see your sources. None of the primary historical sources from either the US or Japanese side of the story supports this.

You're right, it probably wasn't immediate… but there's no question in my mind that the shattering (or the assumed shattering, depending on which direction you think the rabbit hole goes) was a watershed event and I would guess that from that moment on, the Diamonds' strategy was altered.

Probably because there is so much of the mythology left unexplored that people are getting addicted to going down every rabbit hole they can find (myself included, sadly enough).

"Hey look! Entrails!"

But it is, if you consider the context of the action rather than assessing it in a vacuum, as you appear to be.

Well, first, this is an Internet comment thread, so of COURSE we're either overthinking things or making them about politics.

What if, as I mentioned above, Pink Diamond's death was Dumbledorish?

I wonder if our Pearl was originally property of White Diamond and then was lent to Pink Diamond for PD's first colony-growing experience. Pearl's form factor definitely matches White Diamond, but she has some Pink Diamond symbology on some of her outfits.

Well, considering that Rose basically destroyed an entire Ferris Wheel with her bare hands in "Greg the Babysitter," I bet she could have done the same to Pink Diamond. But that might be a bit too ruthless for this show.
