Who ever thought that Will Forte of all people could make me cry?

I hear the plot of this film will be really circular.

I'll buy the DVD and put it in a place of honor between "The Tick" and "Enlisted."

My god, A Canticle for Leibowitz is one of my favorite books of all time of any genre. I haven't bothered with the sequel, though, because for me it wasn't the setting that made the book so fantastic. Revisiting the setting without that gorgeous characterization and theme-building just never interested me.

I always cringe when SNL brings back bits that were waning in popularity before their target demographic was even born.

Speaking of musical stings - the Winter Soldier cue never EVER gets old for me. Just the perfect indication of dread and unstoppable evil strength.

You mean it was an Age.

Easy to Ride Her

I think what made the novels compelling was the heavy research Clancy put into each scenario. The technical realism was tremendous. Unfortunately, that will never translate to Hollywood because, as Clancy himself found out, realism has to be sacrificed for dramatic purposes.

Patriot Games was fun, I guess, if you have fantasies about being able to shout down and lecture the British monarchy until they swoon at your manliness, about being the guy with the pistol who single-handedly defeats an organized military-like terrorist group, etc. all while being the "reluctant hero" who saves

Man, if you want a point-by-point playbook of modern conservative wish fulfillment, read Patriot Games. I just re-read it for the first time in about 20 years and it couldn't have hewn closer to the warped Utopia guys like Ted Cruz believe in if it had been produced by the GOP electoral office itself.

"Maybe none of you guys are smart." - Zack, speaking as a big, dumb, but completely on point audience surrogate.

Patricia Heaton is already an actress who, for me, has to really work hard in order to come off as sympathetic in whatever role she plays, and lately it looks like she's been given the green light to stop trying on The Middle. As the seasons go on I get diminishing returns from Frankie. I could see her awfulness to

The new Raj has actually made me forget how soul-crushingly shrill and unpleasant Bernadette has become. That's quite the achievement.

What a turd.

Loved her both as Mildred Krebs and Marie Barone. RIP.

11.5.55 - Jake Epping and the Yellow-Card Man try to stop a young Marty McFly from inadvertently creating Biffworld. Along the way, Jake falls in love with Lorraine Baines and impregnates her, then discovers Biff Tannen's father's alias was Randall Flagg.

I think every kid with any sort of intelligence and burgeoning social conscience gets to college and, without the tempering influence of parental oversight, overcorrects horribly into activism and stridency for the four (or more) years of their undergrad.
