Fashion it So is fantastic stuff - unlike most of the TNG fashion it covers…

So THIS is the episode where the officer get fused through the floor. That is one freaky image that has stayed with me ever since I saw it as a kid. So glad to finally know the episode.

That screenshot…
…looks like he's just rolled an Xmas-themed Katamari.

@Bad Horse: Also, that fucking song.

I just wanted to say good luck. We're all counting on you.

Edit: that should read GIANT bugs from space. These details are important, you know.

On the 'music I've listened to whilst gaming' tangent, I'd like to add my own experience of The Beatles + Earth Defence Force. Abbey Road has never been the same without bugs from space…

Don't forget Pon-Pon-Patapon!

I noticed the framing quirk early on in the first episode, and just can't ignore how annoying it is! Does the director have a problem with knees and floors?

He's having a good time, something something balls…

@Park - I don't jsut have the song, I have the album!

Sloosha's Crossing's end is definitely a bit of a downer, but also part of the cyclical theme. There's a brief sentence mentioning that the Kona are now pirates as well as raiders, which immediately made me think of Ewing's era. In fact, an incomprehensible orison from a past age could be seen as analogous to the

This is probably a topic for discussion later in the week, but it's the one thing that's really struck me about other people's reading of the book. I initailly noticed the mentioning of previous stories' characters as a kind of 'diluted history' and took it this way: Frobisher reads Ewing's letters and is affected

Number9dream is my personal favourite - it has similar tricky (but less grandiose than Cloud Atlas) elements to its structure that will stay with you long after reading it. Well, it did for me, anyway.

Oi Phipps…
…poor show on the spelling, old boy. That should be "we get a chance to peek at the Doctor's psyche", not peak.

The 80's/90's UK childrens TV show Knightmare is an excellent exception to this punning rule.

Nah, that's just my native aggressive friendliness coming through. Well, and a bit of ire at geographical ignorance.

Excellent news, but…
…what's the logic of releasing the album in England and then doing a UK tour? The populations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland won't have a clue what's going on.

I never warmed to Doctor Who until now. Tennant's performance always seemed too boggly and manic, and when that kind of performance is joined with RTD's cruddy writing and the general over production of the show (tell me how to feel, music!), nice ideas get drowned out in the noise.
