As I said before, and as I will say again - he's playing New Cap City like a genuine newbie. I actually find his situation pretty heartbreaking - all he wants is to see his daughter and he's got to jump through all these virtual (and with the Amp, real) hoops. He doesn't know the rules, he doesn't have a lot of time

To be fair to Joe, he is playing a video game like most adults unused to the medium. Just think of all the times you've handed a joypad to a bewildered relative, and I think you get a lot more sympathy for how he's interacting with the virtual world.

If you want to go watch Die Hard again, that's fine. But it's good that there is celluloid representation of losers and awful peope. You know, just like life itself.

And all.

Ooh, so they do! Still, it's in the range of $350-400, so I can't imagine that being within the budget of your average parole office or their department.

You're skating on thin ice here, my friend. Your blog spam is most unwelcome here and I do believe you have been warned against such actions by the Masters of the AV Universe. So, got anything to say, or were you just passing through to try and get traffic diverted to your blog? We really wouldn't hate you as much if

100GB THUMB drive?!
I have to admit, I was distracting myself from the Dana storyline by playing DQ V T 'n' T on my DS (acronyms ahoy!) when he mentioned it, so I don't know if he actually had a normal size drive (in which case, 100GB is kinda pathetic) or an actual thumb drive. How did a lowly, scuzzy parole officer

Guy should have saved the game, Travis Touchdown style.

It's true - every episode has been building up and paying off remarkably. I loved the exploration of 'what is human, what is cylon, and does it really matter' a little bit more than the shooty-shooty space stuff in BSG (which I still massively enjoyed - PEW PEW), so Caprica is really floating my boat, especially since

I too vote for banishment!

In answer to my own post, the Battlestar wiki has details of Sister Clarice and her ring (ooh er, matron, etc):

Identifying a Sister…
…I was also puzzled by this when the cop recognised Clarice on sight as a Sister, and spent the rest fo the episode looking for visual clues.

I'm really enjoying this season as well, especially since it's such an improvement on season 2. It's back to the spirit of season 1 where all the little actions (the Damages, if you will), add up to horrific consequences. Watching 24 spiral into a vortex of inanity has made me appreciate good drama.

Inverse Star Trek Movies Rules…
…seem to apply to seasons of 24. i.e.: Odd seasons = good, even seasons = bad.

Why the fuck are mobile phones allowed in CTU anyway? There are call centres that don't allow that kind of shit.

Here's a fabulous piece of Enoch Light album artwork:

Some more pointers
I LOVE Exotica music. Leonard is right to warn anyone new to the genre that it's incredibly vague and expansive. However, in what other musical scene can you hear ridiculously talented musicians whooping like jungle animals whilst playing the bongos like they have at least four arms?

Was The Knife…
…cut from this episode?

Dana managed to get a job with CTU despite numerous identity issues that would have raised red flags with an office temp agency. She and Agent Prinze, Jr. have every reason to believe they can get away with returning to CTU with the lamest of excuses.

I was rather irked by the pause. In previous seasons, I imagine Jack would have jumped on top of the guy without a moment's hesitation.
