@avclub-cfe912f5cb3aa572bd1c9ae2a9b82207:disqus - damn, that sounds amazing. I've missed almost every major retrospective I can think of in the last year or two, always finding out about them too late. Gotta keep an eye out for that kind of thing.

Not only have I not seen this movie, I've never even heard of it. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll absolutely keep an eye out for it.

I didn't end up trying it, but a friend once brought Three Penis Wine from China to a party. It was not very popular.

I just watched Margaret two nights ago. Holy shit, what a powerful film. The opening accident scene was just brutal, and the movie was simply gripping from then on.

The walk away from the camera and down the stairs just should have ended the movie. It was an iconic, moving shot, and neither the speech nor the horrifically misplayed theater scene added anything at all to the film. Much like Source Code, it was a movie with a ton of potential that just… went on a few minutes too…

I mostly agree. The performances were fantastic - only Daniel Day-Lewis matched them - and the movie looked great, but it felt shallow, like PTA just ran with a first draft of the script. It was a fine movie, but it was probably my least favorite PTA movie overall, at least of the ones I've seen.
