Keeping both India and Pakistan happy while dealing with extremism in Afghanistan takes a lot of diplomatic talent and patience. India is making inroads in Afghanistan to Pakistan's dismay. That has to be managed carefully.

Increased friction between Russia and/or China and the rest of the world isn't good. Not actively managing the tensions between India and Pakistan — particularly over Afghanistan could lead to trouble. There are lots of plausible scenarios.
