Sigh. Most people can't tell you the difference between Glenn Miller and Louis Armstrong. That doesn't mean you can call early Jazz proto-Swing and be done with it unless you don't mind being inaccurate. You seemed concerned about accurately describing Blues so I assumed you'd be interested in accurately

I haven't argued on the internet in years. This is great!

Why not call Jazz "proto-BeBop?"

You will NEVER find a music scholar who would agree with you that bluegrass predated the blues. Bluegrass is an offshoot of American traditional music that started around 1948. See Earl Scruggs and Bill Monroe.

Not to drag this out, but are you talking about Thomas Sowell, the "American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, and author"? If so, then I don't get it…

The blues did not come from bluegrass in any way. Bluegrass is an offshoot of, as you say, American folk.

Thus perpetuating bullshit stereotypes about Afro-Caribbean cultures…

Not bluegrass. Bluegrass is barely 70 years old. You mean traditional European fiddle tunes.

Those are the posts that make this interesting. Nobody needs to be told that whacking off to little girls is wrong. Lots of people need to be told that saying "smile beautiful" or "they only wanted to get into your pants" is wrong. I also freely admit I was guilty of the smile thing.

But, the whole point of the ship caper was to eliminate the one person who knew what Kaiser Soze looked like right? By the end of the movie, that guy is dead but a half dozen other people now know what he looks like. Maybe I'm not understanding things.

"If I'd known we were gonna cast our feelings into words, I'd've memorized the Song of Solomon"

Byrne (and the others) are terrific. But it's a shitty script. The plot has more holes than a piece of swiss cheese for Easter breakfast at the Vatican. God I hate this overrated piece of shit of a movie.

So I moved to California,
Way down in Hollywood.
I got a brand new monkey
And we was doing real good.

Maybe he wants it animated?

"'Star Wars' fandom is in love with Jessika Pava, the female X-wing pilot from 'The Force Awakens'"

Hurry up w the Silver Line already….

It's legal slave labor. There I said it.

Also, there was a similar $6,000,000 Man episode. The Venus Death Probe…

Yeah I dunno. I thought the performances of Christie and Chaplin (supporting actors) jumped out. Omar Sharif not all that much.

Time's the Revelator too.
