Agreed with everyone above. You will need to get to "The Storm" (episode 8, I think?) before it becomes compelling television instead of just compelling children's television. And there are a few eps in there that cater specifically to kid humor.

Do they not teach history any more?
I was prepared to be disappointed based on the leaked clips I'd seen, so the quality of this pilot was a very welcome surprise.
I'm a fan of the ending as well.
I dunno. I've only just finished Season 3 of BB and I hate Walt with every fiber of my being. I still want to keep watching, though.
I believe all of the Korra episodes are more or less in the can. It's part of the reason the release was delayed so long.
I was just thinking that this was sort of like the mid-season 4, Crispy Earth reveal in BSG. The difference is that Avatar stays consistently awesome until the finale.
This year is turning out to be pop culture Elysium for me. Community is back. This weekend, I get the Hunger Games and Mad Men. The next weekend, Game of Thrones. Two weeks later, LOK. Then I get to look forward to Breaking Bad in July and The Hobbit in December.

There's definitely a sense of "this is our destiny/moment" driving the lead-up to the invasion, and in this show, that's usually a trap.
So your dissertation defense was an Agni Kai?
You're definitely onto something there. I'm researching post-revolutionary fiction and the growth of common sense philosophy in the U.S., and what you see is that after the Revolution, American Protestants who had supported the war had to come up with new bases for moral action that didn't depend on received authority…
When I was a kid in the Bible Belt, Focus on the Family had a radio show called "Adventures in Odyssey." At one point, there was an episode in which one of the kids was introduced to an RPG called "Castles and Cauldrons," which was presented as essentially a gateway drug for Satan worship. I was like 10, and it scared…
