The people in the sleeping bags had clearly been shot dead while sleeping in them. There were bullet marks on the bags.

Don't agree at all with this analysis of Mystique's role in the most recent X-Men…

Pretty sure the reviewer has completely misread what Ward did with the Hydra guys…

I honestly sometimes wonder what version of the show the AV Club reviewers are getting, because it's not the fun, pretty great comic book adaptation I've been watching.

OK, these reviews are getting ridiculous. There's no way this show is earning a mediocre C average. If you want zero cheese, go write a review for something not derived from a comic book. I happen to think the show is actually balancing the serious and the silly in an almost perfect way (which isn't to suggest the

A character doesn't have any lines in an ep so you worry about the actress' ability? Weird. You're weird, weirdo.

haha. OK, that is funny and probably true.

Neither Elektra's death, which led to her own movie, nor Wolverine having to kill The Phoenix, remotely fit the sexist meme. Actually, neither does Vespa's death at the end of Casino Royale. Sorry.

"Game Of Thrones, it appears, is brutal both because it can be and because it wants to be. "
This line makes no sense of the quote that precedes it. That wasn't Martin's point.

Wait, so the reviewer's complaint is that the *penultimate* episode of the season didn't end with everything wrapped up with a nice bow? OhhhhKayyyy…..

Total waste of the amazing, perfect Summer Glau. Otherwise an awesome ep and an awesome season.

I'm 33, and not a grampa - it's a handle you dimwit. The fact of the matter is that you happen to think the characterization in the book is the only way to go. That's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that the showrunners can make a different but equally legitimate choice - i.e. that character development doesn't

A character can't wobble back and forth on changing from horrible to good? That's a nice, limited acceptable narrative range you got there.

And this is the problem. People thinking a despicable person doing something relatively selfless for someone they've come to like (possibly fallen in love with) somehow fundamentally changes them, such that after that, they are incapable of still doing despicable things.

When was he redeemed, exactly? No, seriously, explain it to me? Was it when he was captured? When he got his hand cut off? Because you decided he and Brienne make a great odd couple? In the span of what - a year maybe? less? - he's managed to "redeem" himself for his attempted murder of a little kid? Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Popularity as a character is distinct from "redemption" or "excusability". The notion that Jaime has totally transformed from being the guy who shoved Bran to his near-death is laughable, and the idea the the rape is especially "worse" or an affront to his character is plain silly.

"… but Jaime's rape throws him in the direction of being in excusable."

I'll say it: This was disappointing. It actually closely resembled a 4th season episode.

Speaking of contrivances: THIS REVIEW. Totally an A episode.

Felwithe, you're the worst. You Britta'd this comment.
