So do they do it or not?

It's not bad, and a few of the renditions (Fannin Street, Anywhere I Lay My Head) are quite good.

It's odd, too, because I'm pretty sure the book takes place mostly in California and New York. Then again, the idea of the book being adapted into a TV comedy is pretty bizarre, so it's possible it's just a very loose adaptation.

I just watched it over the weekend, and it's delightful.

While I understand your point, I think having her not marry Tony would turn it into a different, and more overdone, movie, where the choice is between men. The choice Eilis has in the movie is whether or not to do the right thing, which is not a trivial decision, and one she struggles to (indeed, is arguably unable

It's not an unfamiliar beat, it's Fleur East's "Sax", one of the best "Uptown Funk" derivatives out there.

It's a great book, but I have absolutely now idea how you get a half-hour comedy series out of it. But I'd be curious to see them try.

I may be misremembering something, but I don't think it's implied that she was ever having sex with her husband. And the affair with Dick, such as it is, is only a small part of the book - from the start, there's much more talking with her husband about Dick than interaction with him.

This is a loafsome pun thread.

The narrator isn't welcoming anybody to New York - she hears a sound saying "Welcome to New York…"

I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It's driving me mad
It's driving me mad

Which is funny, because Dorothy Parker supposedly said of Katharine Hepburn that "she runs the gamut of human emotions from A to B".

Manic Princess Dream Girl.

Yeah, and why would he wear a crew-neck t-shirt?

D.E.B.S.'s main relationship is pretty adorable, as is the secondary one - it's a pity most of the other elements of the movie are pretty dumb.

Kissing Jessica Stein would be a good entry. I must confess I can't come up with a good example beyond that. D.E.B.S.?

Right, cause snobby film critics hate Woody Allen.

I disagree. She shows great range in the last five minutes of Love In The Afternoon alone. Plus she was a great comic actress, as evidenced by Charade and How To Steal A Million.

Hey, animals gotta stick together.

I just saw eXistenZ and Big Night and he was excellent in each.
