The Excursion comp was essential listening for my friends in the nineties. A scattering of hardcore bands, some more famous than others. I still smile thinking of State Route 522. (The band. The route is just okay.)

Yeah I want to like this a dozen times.

Wow amazing write up Todd. I just clicked on it to read a few paragraphs and got totally engrossed. Awesome.

So true for me as well. Python was an awesome gateway drug to amazing entertainment for me in junior high, starting with Hitchhiker's Guide

My wife and I knew it was true love when we discovered we could both recite a ton of Python from memory. On a recent car trip we tried again and realized that despite having not seen it for many years, we can do a huge chunk of Holy Grail to this day.

Btw, great write up as usual.

Couldn't agree more about the perfect speeches in this episode. This shows what Sorkin got right so often here, and usually on the West Wing: We like the big ideas, we like our people on tv to be great and noble, etc. But it has to be human. It has to be connected to these people in a way we care. Not speechifying at

I actually feel for Brady, though. I mean he had a sense of humor about his image, was hilarious on Chappelle's Show, and still gets saddled with stupid digs about his "blackness" because he isn't "gangsta" or some stereotypical nonsense in a way that some people expect.

Full obit must mention Merlin's House of Mystical Wonders or be invalid.

This is probably the truth, I know. And it's unfair to the actor, no doubt…but my ten year old self blames him!

I despised the Sixth, and it turned me off revisiting all classic Who for a long while. He was just awful, down to that horrid coat. Seriously, go change. I mean regenerate, then change.
