I LOVE the way that "training session" played out. Breinne half assing it, and then "This beeotch for real" Arya getting cocky and then kicked. Then stopping blows that would have killed them both. Ending with mutual admiration for a fellow badass beeotch. Priceless.

This has been my issue with the story's basic narrative. "Honor is bad, and selfishness is good." Except that we have been shown that Honor is effective, and crucial, in cultures that depend on one another for survival (the north in general). To a lesser extent this is true in general military situations.

Respectively, I suggest that it was "break up" mode. "It's not you, it's me.", style.

I have an issue deciding whether he or Baelish is the strongest undercurrent manipulator in the story.

I felt like the "It's not you" was kinda like a break up thing. "It's not you, it's me."

It would get lots of hits. A few kicks, too.

I respectfully disagree. She may be a murderous "Being in Total Control Of Herself" but she is still a Stark. There are rules, there is a thing called Honor, and they must still be observed.

Naw, she ate their food and drank their drink. The exact sin that the Frey's broke. It would be wildly inconsistent for her to kill them.

I enjoyed the contrast with what she did vs. the Freys. These we Lanisters? Her looking at the swords suggested she was considering what she should do. Her "Sharing dinner and drink" underlined her decision. She may be a murderous badass, but she will honor the old ways.

The Frey Wine And Dine And Dying.

The Frey Wine and Dine, er, dying.

LOL

FWIW, she's learned quite a bit from Baelish, too. But maybe more than he intended. I'm glad that little girl Sansa is growing up and taking agency.

Cold open, we see Walder Frey. Two beats, what the?… He's dea… THAT"S ARYA, FUCK YEAH!!!

As a phobia sufferer myself (FWIW, apiphobia, attacked by a swarm of bumble bees when I was seven) I felt like he tried to be afraid of the fire, but didn't really know what it should feel like. Bravery is a thing, but intense irrational fear is going to show up much more strongly, IMO.

Based on the "next on" after bits, it looks like she meets Mymeria(sp?) again. Could add a bit of interest to the Arya plotline.

Mountain Dew, or, maybe Coors.

I liked the contrast with the Freys. She ate their food and drank their drink. She was checking out the swords, considering what she should do with these "Lanisters?". When she did that, you knew that she was going to follow the tradition and not kill those who were ostensibly her enemies.

NOT WUN WUN!
