I never got the hate hate for Tom Hanks on the interwebs.  Is it because he is from the hated Baby Boomer generation?.  He did a lot to educate people about history (WWII and the space program.  That "From The Earth To The Moon"series was excellent).  Also he's done a lot of very good movies.
