You're right, but it still irritates me for exactly the reasons you say! Probably more so now I've rewatched so many episodes in such a short time and the gradual change in Rory was compacted from five years to 3 weeks.

It's probably because we don't have a tradition of baking pumpkin pies here in Australia, so I've never even heard of tinned pumpkin. Here, pumpkin is pretty much for using in soup or roasting.
