Breaking Bad by a country mile. Mad Men revels in its misogyny, as do many of its adherents. I find that aspect of it (while it is a largely well-written show) incredibly tedious. BB on the other hand has taken on a Shakespearean grandeur that is just breathtaking.

I was more making reference to the fact that 'Bent' is slang for homosexual, rather than the commissioning habits of TV schedulers.
I'm going to guess that "Bent" will never make it to British TV screens.

One just has to look at the paucity of social housing today in Britain today to understand that 'right to buy' was (and is) an unmitigated disaster as a social policy. But then again it wasn't designed as social policy, but rather a blatant bribe to the working classes (i.e. the core Labour vote).
