Marjoe Gortner, they're coming for you!

Goddamn, you Disqus. thought my original comment disappeared.

But Beast makes Manos look like a tightly plotted thriller in comparison. God is it slow.

Sure. I mean, it's just a show, we should really just relax.

I'll say it again: THE CHRISTMAS THAT ALMOST WASN'T?

Plenty of people. That battle has been argued on this site many times. A lot of people prefer the "You are Lisa Simpson" heart tugging episodes over the "just" funny episodes.

I don't really enjoy the riffing on reasonably competent movies. Twilight may be bad, but it's not even in the same universe as Manos or Red Zone Cuba or Final Sacrifice. It generally leads to them having to force some joke over and over, like gay Dumbledore, because it's not really That bad.

But some of us don't find the host bits all that funny most of the time. Like someone above said, they kill the momentum. I pretty much "get" the characters from the interaction of the riffing just fine.

Has anybody actually bought one? I just can't see why. I've never watched the episode and thought, "Man, I wish they would restore this gem"

Let's not forget Beast of Yucca Flats. Flag on the moon. How did it get there?

The problem for a certain segment of us is that we prefer funny to character building.

THE CHRISTMAS THAT ALMOST WASN'T

I cast thee out!

I haven't seen it, but "too many jokes" doesn't sounds like the worst thing in the world to me. You'll probably miss half the first time, but it should help the rewatch value. There were times in the original where they would let things sag a little bit.

The AV Club

I've seen every episode, and many of them many many times, and it's not until very recently that I didn't fast forward through the host bits. Even now I can't really identify all the "mads" and stuff. Sometimes I'll read something on an MST forum and it's like a foreign language.

Being Pizza Hut, it left a giant stain on the front of my pants.
