I agree regarding The Big Lebowski. But you really need to re-watch Miller's Crossing. I think it gets better with each viewing.

I agree. Miller's Crossing is flawless. I thought it was okay the first time I saw it, but for some reason my appreciation has grown over the years and now it's my favorite Coen movie.
I'm rubber, you're glue, etc.?
I think Kevin Dunn as the beleaguered White House Chief of Staff is a good addition. Great understated delivery amidst the hysteria. Also, always love to see Kumail Nanjiani make an appearance. "You take your eyebrows and you get out."
I never read comments, nor do I respond to them.
Good catch. Just watched it again. I think you might be right.
Yes! And the Not Ready for Prime Time Players were a real hoot!
"So these quotes add up to a B- in your mind?" Only if the show is graded on a generous curve, compared to the season as a whole. Otherwise, D.
Exactly. Naysayers don't do context.
My NBC affiliate preempted 1600 Penn for an infomercial about dental implants. Win-win!
I'm with you. I thought Nasim was great in that sketch.
Regarding the music at the close - I think it's Michael Penn. Credits say Music By Michael Penn. HBO doesn't list a song credit so I'm thinking the piece was composed for this episode, but I'm not entirely sure.
High point for me: Jess and Nick's indestructible newspaper table.
I'm from Michigan, too. I blame the Detroit Lions.
The dismissive attitude of many east and west coasters to the so-called flyover states is outdated and ignorant. I grew up in the Midwest and have lived on both coasts, and I think this country is a lot more homogeneous than most people think. If there's a difference in sense of community, I think it has more to do…
Ha! I do the same. But sometimes my cc can't keep up.
I agree. A retool implies that there's something of substance on which to build. I just don't see anything that's worth saving. The show's basic premise was ill-conceived from its inception. Sadly, I don't think it's capable of being fixed. The mulligan scenario, though highly unlikely, seems to be the best (only?)…
I agree. This show is floundering badly and the runners and writers seem to have no clue what needs to be done to right the ship. And yet, I optimistically continue to watch every episode hoping that something, anything, will click. So far, nothing.
