alex chilton is probably one of my 10 favorite guitarists ever. he's one of those players who's stuff doesn't sound exceptionally flashy, because he always picked what suits the song first. but then when you try to play it, you're like "oh fuck, how did he do this?" see also: Chet Atkins, Johnny Marr, Elliott Smith

a few personal underrated favorites:

hmmm that isn't racist at all

For being a record of basically a heavily effected guitar and vocals, it is impossibly heavy. I've heard it likened to the sound of drowning. But it's also stunningly gorgeous. Great for when you're alone with some hopefully decent headphones. Cheers!

oh god I cannot stop laughing

spot on analysis. also so far, my full top 5 is Kanye -Yeezus, Grouper - The Man Who Died In His Boat, MBV, and Deafheaven - Sunbather

excellent call, Marah. Kvelertak fucking slays and Meir is one of my 5 favorites of the year

Also I'll take you up on your offer, but you have to guarantee me results!

But technically, I didn't really make a comparison, right? I didn't really compare it to BB, I just said that outside of it, last night's E&B was the most enjoyable thing I've seen on TV this year. High praise for E&B, that's all

Seriously, who do I have to blow for this show to get an A? That was easily the best non-Breaking Bad episode of television I've seen in 2013

"I thought I could take it, but I can't"…holy shit that was funny. Also the fact that I couldn't tell if Peele was laughing or crying at first somehow made it even better

more so than I care about any other thing that could happen in the last 3 episodes, I really hope Todd has a chance with Lydia

shiiiiiiiieeeeeeet I was completely oblivious to that

dammit just as I was starting to get behind Hank, he had to revert back to Meathead Asshole Cop Hank
