Gorgeous trailer (and frankly, it's hard to give away too much of the plot in a Terrence Malick movie).

Agreed - love that trailer: the John Williams 'Krypton' drone combined with messianic imagery was absolutely stunning. That trailer is far and away the best thing to come out of that movie.
The fatherly old British guy,
Back in the Brosnan days, I'd wanted Colin Salmon to succeed him, but now 15 or so years later, clearly that's not going to happen.
BTW interesting to read about Pablo Escobar's son, a fascinating man in his own right. He vocally rejects his father's acts, as well as any association with trafficking and the Medellin cartel. He regularly meets with his father's victims, and changed his name (sensible if your name is Juan Pablo Escobar). Though at…
Eh maybe YOU don't (and neither do I in this case). Didn't phase me, but I don't have an ear for different Spanish or South American accents.
*Bond stares at positive test for hepatitis* "This never happened to the other fella!"
UtD: She stinks like ass but I'll still miss her. I guess you could say that about all my girls.
I'm enjoying this show more than I thought I would, and I think the review hits the nail on the head. This could have easily been a crappy overdone show - the folksy-but-honest narration, the standard obvious metaphors ("stay in the tree!"), the mass TV violence - all been done before, but it simply really works here.…
This is the trouble with so many character origin stories: hey, let's learn about X, but BEFORE s/he was interesting enough to merit being in that movie you loved! Best of all, you'll know how it has to end walking in!
Eh I donno - John Oliver's playful about it. Meanwhile Bill Maher doesn't trust vaccines and relies on the liberals on his panel to defend and justify whatever stupid thing he just said.
You mind if I have some of your tasty blue milk to wash this down?
Meet Joe Black would be a box office bust today.
"…and where the hell was I?"
Certainly has a likable cast (Mark Gatiss AND Andrew Scott! Rupert Graves wasn't available?), but as silly as Guy Ritchie's Sherlock movies were, they belie how hard it is to marry that kind of comedy/action/costume drama without coming off as cheap or desperate.
Headphones in ear and I can hear myself saying "YOU'VE got the gun. Why are YOU running away??"
"This is why women shouldn't be allowed…". Yea, it's been tried.
"…time signatures all over them…"
I'm always a sucker for opera scenes in movies, and Puccini's certainly a good match for film drama (even despite the meh-ness of Quantum of Solace as a whole) BUT like the Daredevil reviewer mentions, can we please please please have something other than Nessun Dorma?
Very much agree on the Rebecca Ferguson front - really a standout. As far as rankings go, I'll need to watch 3 again, but I recall the young teen in me really enjoying the John Woo MI:2 goofiness (was that a dove?) and the silly Limp Bizkit tune.
