I saw a Reddit thread a few weeks ago that had a good bit of speculation:

Even if Tai had stuck with them and they sent Aubrey home last night, they'd be 3 vs 4 at that point with no Idols. Tai's extra vote might help him a bit but no way it could save all 3 of them. They weren't planning long-term either.
