I also want to like it. But Jesus Christ it's a cliche festival.
Same here. It just has the unfortunate luck of being a fad. Like swing music was there for 10 minutes. It doesn't devalue the whole thing, but it came and went quickly and we probably all got irony-d out when everybody's little sister took up the trumpet in band class and joined the band.
"Love Will You Around" - brilliantly used in Eastbound & Down… K. Rogers used to be a force man. Even that duet with Dolly Parton (Aisles in the Stream) is some good shit.
Layne Staley was not happy. Otherwise, I'm in agreement. Those guys are good guys and I struggled with the idea of them carrying on under that banter, but ya know, it was Jerry's band too. Everytime I hear "Would?" I get so fucking bummed out now. RIP. That fucker could sing the shit out of a song.
So I finally watched it
In one sitting over last weekend. I didn't hate it. I kinda liked it actually - BUT THEN, and I don't know if this makes sense, the more I sat around and thought about it the more I started to dislike it.
I went to Pershing Elementary in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He's really killin' it…!
Jesus, Clueless… I really needed that with 2 hours to go at work.
Lynda Carter was so fucking perfect that no one - no matter how cheesy that show was - could bother to live up to those brea— boots.
And that photo. So perfect. It would be hilarious if, as Otto said, this was actually Stan Lee.
Goddamn I love your posts, Stan.
Are they going to freeze Cap'n in the ice in his movie?
I got a live album that says otherwise. :p
Cool, thanks for the link!
Yeah, it was a big deal on a Saturday, hitting flea markets and record stores tracking this stuff down. That was fun.
I'm not sure, a buddy taped it for me back in the day. I do have the live CD called "Metallica The Early Years" but that's a bootleg import so it may come in various titles.
Word. Raphael #1, bitches!
I know it's Archie and all…
…but that art seems awfully substandard, even by their house style.
While they certainly had an impact, I think their place in the timeline has more to do with it than anything. It's almost impossible to imagine there was a time they played arenas.
