SOWN is my favorite Anthrax album. Largely, the Bush era stuff was weak, but man that guy can bring the goods. The album they did of Bush singing the Joey era stuff live in the studio is a fun listen. As is the DVD/CD Weapons of Mass Destruction…

His voice is definitely love it or leave it, but I don't mind it. It's hard to imagine anyone else singing his songs. Vocally, I think he sells it pretty good on Countdown and Cryptic.

Kenny - I don't know if you're based in Chicago, but Tommy from Prong is playing in Danzig, and in October they're playing there as part of the Danzig Legacy thing. I might fly in for that shit.

Setzer is a nice guy, he likes to talk more about cars than rock and roll.

"That said, I would take Persistence of Time and Sound Of White Noise over any of the early Belladonna stuff. That's when they stopped fucking around and trying to be goofy and started writing really good songs."

He actually did make an attempt to get the 'Rust' line-up back together and it didn't work out.

Original Metallica Demos, etc.
…with Dave singing. Anybody ever hear those? Pretty interesting. I have those and a few live bootlegs from that era before Hetfield started singing.

Slayer's Metal Blade catalog gets overlooked a lot. I give Seasons a lot of love because it's the album that really got me into Slayer.

Friedman is so good it hurts your feelings…

They were pretty spotty on some of those late 90's tours, that's for sure. He supposedly fucked up the nerves in his fretting hand and had to go through physical therapy. I don't know how true that is.

There's a newer version, and I think the gal from Nightwish sings on it?

In my opinion, Setzer is one of the greatest living guitar players…

F5. Had to look it up…

Kenny, you're doing God's work. I am about to get Google-happy… keep it up.

Ellefson is just about THE nicest guy on the planet. He was in some band after Megadeth, and my old band played a couple shows with them. I chatted him up and that dude is just about as real as it gets. A true gentleman. I suppose a few decades of Dave M. will humble you.

Countdown To Extinction is a worthy album as well. I'd take it over "Killing"… which I know I shouldn't…

Menza

Seen all these fuckers, multiple times (Slayer the most, they're total road dogs) - but I got a soft spot for Mustaine because he really is the best guitarist of his generation. You can't touch this guy…

I remember when…
Everybody was into this show for 5 minutes.

I'm not gonna necessariily "defend" 2.5 men, but it's a helluva lot more "enjoyable" than BBT. Jesus fucking Christ I hate that show.
