Marvel's answer to continuity, for better or worse is 'fuck it all'!!!

The industry began catering towards 'the comic shop' - which has its place. But most entry-level readers my age and younger (who actually bought comics… a shitload of 'em) were introduced to them at grocery stores and other places.

Hal Jordan should have never, ever, ever been killed off.

Keeping these characters published in monthly pamphlets is the best way to keep the trademarks going and make a bit of break-even coin.

It's now the default approach, and it doesn't work with every character.

I miss the cheap newsprint and spinner racks at local stores.

Busiek is awesome, and a helluva nice guy. Everything he does seems true to the spirit of what I love about comics.

The problem with modern super-hero comics-
(and I say this without reading any comments yet)

I can't believe I'm going to write this:

Minority Report was stellar… better with repeat viewings.

Agreed on Miller's Crossing. It is the peak of their abilities and awesomeness.

The show is recently pretty uneven - but always solid and makes me laugh. Does that make sense? Not everything can rule all the time. The golden seasons for me are like 3 - 7.

South Park suicides never get old… it's like every movie that has a climactic suicide moment rolled into one piece of hilarity.

I love L&O - but certainly prefer the tone and style of the early seasons… newer stuff is so super glossy. They're almost not even the same show. Past it's prime for sure, but still good viewing.

I need to see it… It slipped under my radar…

"Brothers Solomon" was fantastic…

Cocaine will make you do silly things… like more cocaine!

Total.

I don't know why its so surprising that he's a wackjob. Of COURSE he's a wackjob. I don't care for later era SP, but Siamese Dream is untouchable and I give him a lot of leeway to be kooky because of it. Oh, and that song on the "Lost Highway" soundtrack was awesome. And so was "Adore".

It was a great mag - I'm glad its back, even in online form. Though I'm one of those old-time wacko's who loves the printed word…
