He gets a pass from me for "A Simple Plan" and "Bad Santa"… he can douche it up all he wants!

Ellroy is the cream of the crop for me… His autobio "My Dark Places" is fantastic as well. In fact, I think I may re-read that this weekend…

I'm enjoying this season much more than last season as well… its a bit more consistent, which is nice.

So does Castle goddammit… and I've not seen BOT yet….

That Krod Mandoon shit looks HORRIBLE. And what is with the Guitar Hero Metallica commercial being before and after every fucking commercial on Comedy Central. Driving me nuts last night, hearing Hetfield say "We think not" in that super lame way. (like really, there wasn't a better take on the hard drive somewhere?)

Yeah, that was the funniest part of the episode for me, the Carlito's Way reference! Awesome. Otherwise it was a slightly above average episode I thought. Maybe I wasn't in the mood or something but all the targets seemed too easy. The flashbacks were gold though.

Cannell was also behind Rockford Files and probably a shit-ton of other shows I love… *goes to IMDB…

Yes. please do! This belongs in TV Club - great show and it gets better every week!

Amen on the Mexican Coke
That shit tastes amazing. I buy it all up when I come across it, which was more frequent for awhile… now not so much.

I'm with the Mother Fuckin' Zodiac on this one…

Gambit
Still convinced I'm the only person who doesn't dig on the Gambit character. Never have… seemed like a lame version of Longshot. Who was kinda cool and perfect in that 80's way.

But he does have a point…

I like that MD cover of Paranoid! haha Then again, I'm one of the few who don't mind his snarly whiny voice…

It's worth noting in the story the speculation that he was canned because of Don Ohlmeyer's friendship with O.J. …or would that improper journalism?

Sad
I work at a newspaper and before I started here six months ago I guess I didn't give it much thought (though when I worked in NYC getting a paper in the morning was just what you fuckin' did goddammit - especially if you commuted).

Soundgarden Break Up Was Mutual
Just so you all know. It wasn't some cooked up scheme by the lead singer to go start a solo career. They were done and they knew it… It sucks because there's no easy blame here, but like was said above - at least they went out on a relatively high/good note instead of getting

I met John Keyster at a resort I used to work at in Ocean Shores, WA. He was in town doing a speech for some convention or whatever.

I'd agree with that - the Civilian demos were pretty damn good. The albums, not so much.

I'm glad Lombardo's on board still… and Hanneman is apparently writing a good chunk of the material for the new record. Fuck. Yeah.

I find that in horror movies a lot of the underlying themes and sub-texts don't really show themselves until we can look back at them and the period in which they were made.
