Here here on MGS2's sheer gusto. It's a tad short and awkward in spots as a result of the commendable risks it takes, but boy there sure is a lot in it that's prescient of conversations and topics relevant in today's world, huh?

"By the way… have you gained some weight?"
"You think so? I weigh the same as always. May…be… I'm… bloat…ed to..day?"
Until Dawn is very cheesy and short but sweet. It really is like playing through an old horror movie where you get to decide who lives and who dies and everyone's an equal level of asshole in the story (but eventually you CAN also relate to their desire to survive should you choose).
I'm glad you're getting such a kick out of Life is Strange! And well said. A lot of people have made that apt comparison— that LiS is the new extension of what Telltale Games could be or JUST how far you can take that formula with an episodic structure and make it soar. So too with, say, Until Dawn and the David…
Morgana: I am Joker's wasted life. YOU ARE NOT YOUR BATTING RANGE SCORE! YOU ARE NOT HOW MUCH YEN YOU SPEND ON SUSHI. OR HOW MANY BURGERS YOU CAN EAT. YOU ARE NOT YOUR FUCKING COFFEE BLEND!
This also reminds me of AVGN's comments on Hydlide, where at first he's bashing the obtuseness of its more cryptic elements, but then realizes, "hey, if no one was around to share info on Zelda's secrets, that could have been frustrating at times to play as a kid too, huh?"
I replayed Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward almost immediately after I finished it. In my first playthrough I enjoyed it well enough but it left me feeling empty with a lot of questions due to its more anti-climatic elements. But I couldn't get it out of my head. It just kept popping back up in my thoughts.
Thanks for the link! That analysis on the thematic resonance of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is in particular really great.
I'm so glad the ending lived up to your expectations and then some! And you're not alone with regards to the various other quests and items available in that last 10% + DLC. I'm waiting a bit before delving back into the game and once the time is right I'll push through that mini-grind to get the most out of it. …
/comfort on Persona 5. If it's any consolation, I loved my time through it but I too was thinking that exact same thing at the 75-80 hour mark. "So… is the other shoe gonna drop soon? Maybe? Please?" Not that it NEEDS to, but as I mentioned before with Clue not needing to be 14 hours long, Ocean's Eleven doesn't…
Thank you! ^^ I'd say newcomers to the series could definitely still enjoy this work. The narrative is specifically centered around an aged King Graham informing his granddaughter Gwendolyn about his rise to knighthood and glory days as a king. So the old school references, aside from a few lines and easter eggs,…
/cheer! As you guys mentioned aplenty in your outstanding discussions around Injustice 2, it really is a shame people could ever view Superman's hope and spirit as liabilities for a narrative rather than the wonderful, unique assets they really are. /cheer to All Star Superman and everything that evokes that similar…
That's a great point. Makes perfect sense to me. There's a big difference between scaling a mountain trail upward and say, taking the long trek up the stairs of a skyscraper. On the former it can be tough and aimless, sure, but you'll see all these unique sights and can wonder about the endless horizon before you…
Salutations!~
/cheer! ^^ Thanks!

CIA Superior: The Russians?
CIA Officer: Mmm-hmm.
CIA Superior: The Russians?
CIA Officer: Mmm-hmm, Russian Embassy.
CIA Superior: Are you sure?
CIA Officer: Hey, the guy was not hard to follow, as you know.
CIA Superior: Why the fuck would they go to the Russians? Why the fuck?
